Why Contacting Officials is Imperative: Many of our officials have not chosen to homeschool and too few understand why we homeschool or what the benefits are. Just think about what you thought about homeschooling before you expereinced it! How will they find out about homeschooling? Through YOU! During the interim (during the session too), consider the following ways of reaching out to your legislators:

• Persistently invite your officials to all homeschooling events.

• Look for opportunities to visit with them and explain what we do.

  • Ask them to answer the survey.

• Send them a letter or email about every success that your child has!

• Network with other people (instructors and people you do business with)who will contact officials.

• Local LIO's (Legislative Information Office)
