Alaska has
been very receptive to parents' right to educate their
child at home. You
can homeschool independently or affiliate with an in-district
or statewide programs. This does not mean that there is not
a need for constant vigilance. Our
current focus has been on reversing the negative impact on
statewide homeschool programs. We believe strong independent,
in-district and statewide homeschooling opportuntities will
benefit all homeschoolers.
Most
often, people who are not receptive just need more information! AHEA
will be posting information on how you can volunteer to host
an event and help spread the word about the benefits of homeschooling.
Are
you willing to host a picnic, supper, church event in
your district? Do
you know of a homeschooling event where State Board of EED
members, the Governor, or your legislators would be welcome? If
so, please write to AHEA@AHEAnow.org
